Saturday, February 24 2024 - Bolingbrook Raider Indoor Invite


Saturday marked the first invitational for the Wildcats, and the team took advantage of the chance to compete for personal bests and to score points for the team. The field events took center stage as they have in the first few meets of the season. Adrian Washington took little time to break his own school record in the long jump with a leap of 6.97 meters (good for #3 IL currently), the jump also set a meet and facility record. The field events kept rolling when Christian Martin launched a big PR of 16.35 meters to take first and now sits at #7 IL and #2 all-time indoor for PHS. The first victory on the track came in the 4x800, Harlan Matson, Tyler Schick, Arnold Arce and Tyler Weir ran a strong race for the win.

Adrian Washington, Nigel Osei Asare, Will Dotson, and Bryan Underwood took 2nd to a strong Bolingbrook team in the 4x160. The JV team of Torrance Freeman, Gilberto Saucedo, Cedric Donkor and Na’Varyian Junior took 2nd as well in the same relay. Adrian also took 2nd in the 55. Torrance and Na’Varyian took 3rd and 4th at the JV level. Bryan took 3rd with Nigel taking 6th in the 200. In the 400 Jake Michel took 5th. In the JV 200 Kalib Smith took 4th and Cedric Donkor took 6th. Kalib also scored points in the JV 400, finishing 5th. In the 800 Micah Ruland took 6th in the JV race. In the 1600 Harlan Matson took 6th. In the JV high jump, Gilberto Saucedo finished 5th overall.

The team took 3rd place overall and is back in action next Saturday at Rich Township.
