XC Season Kicks Off

Finally a chance to race, after a few weeks of training the guys had a chance to mix it up with Oswego East and Naperville North. Its always exciting to see athletes get their first race experience and see how they respond. Many of the freshman and sophomores show some great toughness in completing their first race. Arnold Arce led the way with a 6^th place finish, running a very tough race and battling with the top group the entire way.

The varsity gave a good fight with some strong pack running, Mike Forbear and Aaron Wyckoff finished shoulder to shoulder and were followed 45 seconds later by Paul De Avila, Alex Rojo and an epic last mile from Tyler Schick brought him even with that group.

Walking away from the first meet is a chance to learn and grow as the season moves forward. The guys are back in action on Tuesday at the City Championships at Plainfield North.
