Two meets in 3 days, this is always a big weekend on the indoor schedule. Great competition and wonderful facilities. Both meets saw some great performances.

The relays really stepped up in both meets. The 4x200s ran season best times at both the varsity and f/s levels both meets. The young guys Alex Haberkamp, Scott Freischlag, Stephon Griffin and Torrance Freeman threated the school record running 1:42 both meets. The varsity crew of Nigel Osei Asare, Will Dotson, Christian Crowder, and Joey Mikolaczyk dropped a season best time 1:38, and are building some good momentum as we head towards SPC Championship next Friday. The 4x400 relay ran 3:43 with legs from the distance crew of Harlan Matson, Tyler Schick, Arnold Arce and Tyler Weir. The sprint team ran 3:46 with great legs from James Kulekowskis, Gavin Schnowske, Bryan Underwood, and Jake Michel. The 4x400 is primed for another big breakthrough in the coming weeks.

The freshman group is really showing up. Torrance Freeman ran 6.92 and the 2nd fastest freshman time in the state on Thursday. Stephon Griffin jumped 1.65 in the high jump. Frank Gibson had a great debut in triple jump. Curterry Clark also made a great jump debut in the long jump.

The distance guys ran tons of PRs in both meets. Luke Adair broke 5 for the first time (4:51.9). Harlan Matson ran a PR in the 800 on Thursday and then ran a double PR (1600 and 4x400) on Saturday. Tyler Schick, Arnold Arce, Ubaldo Rodriguez, Diego Arce all ran PRs in the 1600. Adrian Castillo ran a PR in the 800 and so did Aden Valjacic.

The throws had some big PRs this week: Justin Bannister, Tyler Ibarra, and Nathan Reyes all stepped up in a big way.

The spring crew had big PRs on Saturday. Nigel Osei Asare in the 55. Quinn Allen in the 400. Cameron Krankel in the 400. Hillary Ikharehon, Nathanial Ikharehon, Tyler West, and Saaransh Amin in the 200.

The team is back in action on Tuesday at the frosh/soph city championship and then SPC Championship next Friday at Lewis.
